Decided to watercolour at 10pm last night? Stayed up until 2am painting this and my hand was like “whyyyyy?!” and I was like “shut up hand, I’m not done yet”
(So hard to go back and not add outlines because I’m addicted to outlines but I wanted to try a different painting style without them.)
Some Cardcaptor Sakura fanart for your Friday! Because I recently finished reading all my huge-butt manga books and relived a bit of my childhood through them. And yes, she’s wearing my panda hat… the one I got from qutewear (if you want to order your own~!)
I originally saw the dub of "Cardcaptors" back when it aired on Kids' WB. Eventually, I got to see the original unaltered Japanese version with English subtitles from video sites such as Youtube. I've seen the entire series from start to finish, but I don't want to give away any spoilers...
Its not often I see artwork of this character. I only managed to see the 4Kids version of this anime, but even if that one was full of censored material and had a non-linear plot due to the cut episodes, it was still one of the highlights of my childhood. Thanks for making this~<3
You're welcome~ Same as you I watched the dub back in the day, and only got a handful of the comics from Tokyopop, but was so happy to have that to watch/read
I just wish I knew how it ended. ^_^" All I remember is a short scene of Sakura's eagle-winged lion companion transformed into his true form after she collected all the cards together. ^_^"
It was Nelvana that made the "Cardcaptors" dub, but it doesn't really matter in the end. Nelvana were just as bad (if not worse than 4Kids) at dubbing anime.
The only thing I have to thank them for is introducing me to One Piece, even if they mangled their version of it. At least it made me interested enough to read the English translation of the manga.
